Opening Comments from Bob Why this Special Issue
In January, I officially launched my new site, Journeys Publishing. Faithful readers know that I have been working on this for almost two years. I also brought aboard a partner, Kristi, to assist with this new venture. As implied in the name, JP will focus on allowing subscribers to showcase their work or simply make comments about content. Professional or aspiring writers or individuals who simply want "to put their work out there" will have a high caliber forum to do so.
The Mission is To provide exposure for writers and members through a safe, quality environment and to foster individual insights through the collective community.
Participation will be by subscription only. Right now, you, as a special offer, can subscribe for free. However, after the start up period there will be a minimal monthly fee, which will be affordable to almost everyone. Fear not, once the transition occurs, subscribers will have the option to continue or opt out. The site will remain free for readers to peruse some of the content. However, to become part of the ongoing dialogue and to submit work will require a paying membership. But for now, a subscriber may submit one poem or one vignette or one essay of 300 words or less at no charge. All work should fit the overall tenor of my web sites. In ALL cases we have the right to accept or reject the piece. In ALL cases, the author retains all copyright rights. So don't delay, click on Journeys Publishing and subscribe to become part of this exciting venture. Once you subscribe, you have the option to submit your work. Please email your submissions to Kristi.
Enjoy this free opportunity to participate we enter a new year and a new decade, there are many changes that are occurring in my little business world.
Survey and Incentive
We need your help. To assist us with our overall planning for the site, please go to Journeys Publishing, click on the Survey icon in the left upper corner, and offer your feedback.
Or, you can go directly to the survey by clicking on the link below.
By completing the entire survey and submitting your email at the end of it, you will be entered into a drawing to win $25. The winner will be announced in the March PJ. If you complete the survey by 12 Noon on February 20, 2010, you automatically will have your email entered twice to win. In short, you double your chances. The winner will be announced in the March PJ.
Sorry, but I have to set some guidelines since money is involved. You may enter only once and may not submit under multiple email addresses. Multiple entries will make you ineligible to win. The company notes the ISP for each entry.
Blogging from Hawaii
On January 31 I started blogging about the thirty-two days I am spending on Hawaii. The blog is originating from my new site. If you are interested reading more about Hawaii (some fine pics) and/or following this adventure, please visit my NEW blog.

Until next time - joy and peace,

PJ Policies
Guest Poetry: Often readers send me a poem stating they would like it included in the PJ. Many of the poems are well written. Although I enjoy reading them, at this time I do not include guest poetry as part of this newsletter. Instead, I suggest that they submit them for inclusion in the Guest Poet section of my web site. A number have chosen to do so. However, time limitations and quality govern the number that will be accepted. I currently am not accepting poetry from minors.
-----------------------------
Guest Vignettes: On occasion, I publish guest vignettes submitted by one of my readers. If a guest vignette is submitted and selected, the author understands that there is no remuneration provided; the vignette will be included in the e-mailed and web site versions; and will remain posted until I choose to remove it from the site. In all cases, the guest vignette remains the property of the guest author who has given permission for its usage as described in sentences one and two.
-----------------------------
Privacy: I take it very seriously. Your name will never be sold to a third party nor will we disclose at any time your subscription information.
----------------------------
Unsolicited Mailing: The PJ is never sent unless requested. If you believe you received the PJ unsolicited, please notify me. I will unsubscribe you.
------------------------------
Reproduction and Forwarding: While the material is copyrighted, you have permission to forward all or part of this newsletter. You may also quote from it. Out of common courtesy (We will forget all the legal jargon and requirements.), I would appreciate at least a mention or a footnote. -- Much appreciated!
------------------------------
Recommendations: All recommendations are personal ones offered for your information. I receive no remuneration of any kind from the sources or individuals being recommended other than when I recommend purchasing my books. Actually, many are never aware of their listing. One may ask, "Why do you provide recommendations for specific establishments or locations, especially since many of your readers are worldwide and may never be able to use the information?" The key word is "may." When I travel, I plan much of the itinerary myself. This planning includes reading and listening to recommendations from professional and personal sources. My wish is that any suggestions provided will assist some readers as they make their plans. (Incidentally, I have already received feedback that readers use them.)
Subscription: To unsubscribe click on your individualized unsubscribe e-mail at the end of this newsletter. (Not appropriate for this web page.) Or send a BLANK e-mail (Be sure not to write anything in the subject or body) to
