Background: Rachel Blevins grew up in a pastor's home, living in Ohio, Kentucky and the Cayman Islands. Her love of language was birthed in the rhythmic patterns of Appalachia and the Caribbean. Daily essay writing, recitations and choral speaking were part of her British schooling in the Caymans. Only in recent years has she returned to her love of writing, drawing upon experiences in hospice work, times spent in missions/ministry and in educating her three sons at home. She attended college in Missouri where she met her husband, Joe. Granddaughters Montana and Mycah provide more writing material...and fill her life with joy! You may email Rachel at jblevin3@columbus.rr.com.

Rachel is the first guest poet to submit Haiku. Below are some of her favorites.

Dewey spider webs
spun in silence proclaim
"I'm here by design!"

Frosty morning breath
Gift of life made manifest
Take a deep breath...ahhh!
